Laser Surgery in Our Clinic

Before the Laser Surgery

Stop wearing your contact lenses 3 days in advance. Firstly, a detailed eye examination is practiced and eye power is determined. Afterward, elaborated analyses including also corneal thickness and topographic maps of cornea are practiced. If factors causing lacerations, holes, etc. are detected in retinal examination, these areas must be treated by argon laser and excimer laser treatment should be delayed for at least 3 weeks.

During the Laser Surgery

The operation is painless. Most of our patients have a comfortable operation. Eyes are only anesthetized by eye drops. The operation of one eye takes a couple of minutes. Staying in the operating room is about 15 minutes.

After the Laser Surgery

After the operation, you can return to your home. It is normal that you have watering, pain, sinking for 4-5 hours in your eye. Apply the eye drops as your doctor advises. Don’t massage the eye, don’t let it touch soap or water. It isn’t suggested you drive on the day you are operated. The first control examination is on the next day. After that examination, most of our patients go back to their work and daily lives. It is required you to apply the eye drops for 3-6 months.
